ASSESSMENT
PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT
Psychoeducational Assessment offers a blueprint of the strengths and struggles of a student's cognitive learning processes. Analysis of verbal and thinking capabilities, memory function, auditory and visual processing as well as processing speed offers essential information that explains how a student learns. Achievement scores are included in this assessment so that discrepant functioning between aptitude and achievement can be pinpointed and diagnosed. Results are discussed with parents and a school conference may be held if desired. The written report provides an outline for remediation or enrichment.
*Available for high school students who need assessment to qualify for extended time testing on the SAT or ACT.

COGNITIVE SKILLS ASSESSMENT
Cognitive Skills Assessment pinpoints what it takes to maximize the brain's real potential. Why should your child struggle any longer?
1. Accurate cognitive testing takes the guesswork out of tackling learning problems. A strategy can be formulated to identify and remediate the root cause of the problem.
2. A comprehensive, accurate assessment reveals both a student's cognitive strengths and weaknesses so training can be doubly effective…maximizing potential and overcoming persistent problems.
3. Everyone learns differently. Not everyone's struggles or strengths are the same. What works for one student may not work for another. Accurate testing identifies a student's unique needs so skills training can be personally designed to match those needs.
4. Cognitive assessment and skills screening is the logical first step to a lifetime of successful learning and reading.
Specific Skills Need Specific Strategies. Here are the Key Cognitive Skills:
Auditory Processing: enables individuals to hear the difference, order, and number of sounds in a word.
Visual Processing: enables individuals to form and manipulate accurate images in your mind. This skill is essential for math, reading comprehension, and many forms of problem solving.
Memory Skills: enable individuals to follow instructions and organize their materials.
Word Attack Skills: enable individuals to segment and articulate new or unfamiliar words. When coupled with an auditory processing weakness, a student is sure to struggle while reading new material.
General Processing Speed: enables individuals to easily handle incoming information within the basic boundary of his learning efficiency.
Logic and Reasoning: enables individuals to recognize the connections between things. Planning and problem solving require individuals to recognize these connections.
