ER TIPS FOR SUCCESS
Should you take the ACT or SAT?
Check to see which test is accepted at the college or university in which you are interested. If both the ACT and SAT are accepted, take the test that enhances your strengths. The SAT is more a reasoning test while the ACT is more oriented toward high school curriculum. Practice questions are available at www.act.org (ACT) or at www.collegeboard.com (SAT).
If you don't know the answer on the ACT, no big deal - just fill in the bubble of your best guess! The ACT gives you credit for only answers that you get right - whether you guessed or not.
On the other hand, the SAT will subtract a fraction of a point from your correct answers to get a final score. So don't answer unless you can eliminate 1 or 2 answer choices. You don't have to answer every question to get a good score.
